Mike Alco
- Black & Gray Realism
Mike Alco has been tattooing professionally since 2016, but his connection to art started long before that. From a young age, he was constantly drawing, painting, and sculpting, always finding ways to create and express himself through art.
In 2015, Mike made a major life change by leaving his career as a broker to pursue art full-time in Colombia. During that time, he focused on painting murals and participating in art shows, eventually realizing that tattooing was the medium that brought together everything he loved most about art. In 2016, he moved back to New Jersey and fully committed to tattooing professionally.
The following years played a huge role in shaping him as both an artist and a person. Mike worked in a variety of street shops, learning how to adapt, work hard, and take on a wide range of tattoo styles and projects. While constantly moving between different environments wasn’t always easy, it helped him grow quickly and build a strong foundation within the industry. Over time, he also found a sense of community through tattoo conventions, connecting with artists who shared the same passion and standards for the craft.
That journey eventually led him to Soul Kraft Ink in 2021, where he has proudly worked ever since. Being surrounded by a supportive and talented team has allowed him to continue refining his craft while creating the experience his clients deserve.
Mike specializes in black and grey realism, American traditional, and freehand floral work, though his background in street shops keeps him open to exploring a wide variety of styles. He enjoys collaborating closely with clients to create tattoos that feel personal, intentional, and built to last.
At the core of it all, Mike simply loves what he does and the people he gets to do it for. Whether it’s someone’s first tattoo or their next major piece, his goal is always to create something meaningful, solid, and timeless.
